THE EFFECT OF TAX AVOIDANCE, OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE, AND AUDIT COMMITTEE EXPERTISE ON FIRM VALUE IN MANUFACTURING COMPANIES LISTED ON THE INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effect of tax avoidance, ownership structure, and audit committee expertise on firm value in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Tax avoidance refers to legal strategies employed by firms to minimize tax obligations, while ownership structure and audit committee expertise are essential for corporate governance and oversight. This research uses secondary data obtained from annual reports of manufacturing companies during the period 2020–2024. Multiple linear regression analysis is applied using SPSS software. The findings reveal that tax avoidance has a significant negative effect on firm value, ownership structure has a significant positive effect, and audit committee expertise has a positive but nonsignificant effect. The study offers important implications for corporate management and investors in strategic decision-making regarding tax policies, ownership configuration, and the role of audit committees
