Abstract

The main objective of this research is to reflect on the roles and functions of English language trainers or lecturers as educators and coaching as educational practice. This study uses an educational philosophical approach. English education trainers are professionals who have the skills to train and teach English to students or learners. Nonetheless, coaching in the field of English language education is generally considered an educational practice. This research is based on five paradigms in learning English including pragmatic, idealistic, positivist, existentialist and sociocritical in building a questionnaire in research. We find that these five paradigms have an effect on the results of English language training.
